Twiistup Gets Bigger, Badder, and Straight Up Off the Hook

My first experience with Twiistup was as a sponsor at Twiistup 4. Twiistup does an amazing job of providing some serious opportunities for startups, investors, and the community inside of a serious party atmosphere. It’s a chance for everyone to unwind and have fun; maybe it’s the relaxed atmosphere that allows the conversation to flow so smoothly. When I approached Twiistup founder Mike Macadaan with the idea to bring a bed to Twiistup 4 in place of our sponsor table I wasn’t sure what kind of reaction I’d get. I think it was an ear-to-ear grin. Twiistup welcomes creativity and innovation. Twiistup has a great team behind it, Mike, his wife Stephanie Macadaan, Nicole Jordan, Jeremiah Abraham and Lewis PR among them. My company, Heavybag Media is also proud to be supporting Twiistup this year.
The last Twiistup sold out at 600 tickets and had over 600 on their waiting list. This time there’s a new venue – Twiistup 5 will be held on Feb. 12 in a 15,000 private hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. Capacity is now 1,000. The Twiistup team is pulling out all of the stops this time (wait, I thought they did that last time) and it’s gonna be off the hook! I’m sure the event will sell out again, so if you haven’t gotten you tickets yet now’s the time! You can register here.

I’m also super-excited to have been selected as a judge for Twiistup 5. I dug up this old sketch that my creative director did of me during a status meeting about three years ago from the “status meeting doodles” section of the blog. What do you think, does it bear a resemblance?
