Having a diverse yet cohesive background in marketing communications, social media, technology and digital arts, I’m able to provide high-level consulting for a wide variety of clients on a wide range of projects. Whether you’re building a complex web application or looking for the best way to reach 60-year-old women online, I can deliver.
Over 15 years in the business means I know the ins and outs of taking a project from creative brief to happy client. I am big on using solid research combined with gut instincts to determine the overall direction for a project. I am a believer in taking a holistic approach to creative direction: each element of the campaign should feel like an extension of the whole.
Visual direction and look and feel - critical components in any project, whether it’s an advertising piece, a corporate identity package, a destination site or a retail interior. Color, shape, light, imagery and typography are all vital to a successful project. I’ve designed several award winning logos, websites and print pieces. I have a knack for putting myself behind the eyes of the audience. I first imagine their reaction, the one I want, and then I flip the camera 180º and picture what they’re reacting to. It’s a trick I also use when I DJ - I picture everyone on the floor dancing, then just imagine what the soundtrack would be and play it. Works every time.
This is one area that I really love geeking out on. Information architecture, user interface design, user experience and usability considerations are all things I have encountered with eager anticipation many times throughout my career. I have designed, managed and created huge web portals, tiny little widgets, web applications, iPhone applications and games. I am always eager for a challenge in this area.
