Bloktonik: It's What's for Dinner.
Hey Guys! This is Jason from Robotube Games. I talked a little last week with a few of the folks from HBM about doing a collaborative project to convert the Robotube Puzzle Game, Bloktonik, into a 2-4 player board game. I think I have the rules pretty well thought out, but what I’ll really need is a board design, the package design, and the “Bloks.” I found a good Bucket-o-blocks online that might make for some good pieces, but I need a lot of ideas and input in order to make this happen. Who knows…could go over really well. What does everyone think about this?

Have you ever seen those pixel blocks? They came to mind immediately when you mentioned this project to me the other day. I think they’d be awesome to have around the office anyhow. Especially since you’re so fond of pixel art. (Do I really have to make a pixel version of our logo for your blog?)

    I also found these.

Other than that, I can design some with clay, make a silicone mold, and cast the blocks in resin. I could cast the game board too I guess. I’m really into that process right now, but I’m still working it out.

    We could also get some

Your idea of casting the pieces is pretty cool. But, I’m just thinking about time vs. purpose. What we want to build is a prototype, and then if we think it’s working, we could build a small run of like 20 units or so. Do you think it would be worth it to cast everything?

Casting the board is an interesting idea…
